Process and information management in the operating room. That’s a big operation

4 July 2018

In order to make the work processes within the OR smarter and more sustainable and improving the information streams, all equipment within operating rooms is increasingly more interconnected. The increase in availability and the needs for (image) information in the OR, also causes an increase in the complexity of information management. The renewed information screen ORflow with its integrated image routing offers optimal support to the operating team from one central location for the following aspects:

  • Presentation of the right information
  • OR control
  • Smart integration and connections with third party systems

Smart integration and connections

Smart integration and connections enable a continuous expansion of ORflow’s functionalities. It is possible, for instance, to initiate livestream connections with experts residing both within and outside of the hospital. Of course, images and data can be stored directly into the EHR / PACS. Furthermore, as much data as possible about post-operative wound infection data is automatically downloaded for the Dutch Healthcare Inspection in real-time. This reduces the administrative burden while also contributing to reducing the number of post-operative wound infections.

Automation and smart integrations with third party systems, contribute to increasing patient safety and completing operations better, faster and more safely.
